Historic Jackson Hole Landmark
The Wort Hotel opened in 1941 when brothers John and Jess Wort transformed their livery stable into what would become Jackson Hole's premier downtown hotel. Located just steps from Town Square the historic property has welcomed everyone from presidents and celebrities to cowboys and everyday travelers for over 80 years. The hotel embodies Western elegance with 55 thoughtfully decorated guest rooms and suites featuring leather furnishings hand-carved wooden bed frames and authentic Western artwork.
The Famous Silver Dollar Bar
The Silver Dollar Bar opened in 1950 and instantly became a Jackson Hole institution. Its most distinctive feature is the 65-foot serpentine bar top inlaid with 2032 uncirculated 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars from the Denver mint. In its early days the bar was a hotspot for drinking socializing and even gambling. The bar's Western decor includes taxidermy displays vintage photographs and an atmosphere that transports patrons to the Wild West while providing modern comforts.

The adjacent Silver Dollar Showroom serves as Jackson's premier downtown music venue. Bluegrass Tuesdays featuring the band One Ton Pig has been a beloved tradition for over 15 years with the band playing year-round to packed houses of dancers and music lovers. One Ton Pig was named Best Band in the 2025 Best of Jackson Hole contest. The showroom also hosts live music Thursday Friday and Saturday evenings featuring local regional and national acts across genres from country and folk to rock and bluegrass.
Winter Home of the Hootenanny
Since October 2021 the Silver Dollar Bar has served as the winter home for the legendary Jackson Hole Hootenanny. When Dornan's outdoor venue closes for the season the open mic tradition continues downtown every Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This partnership ensures the nearly 30-year-old acoustic music tradition runs year-round providing a platform for local and visiting musicians to share two-song sets with an appreciative audience.

The Silver Dollar Grill offers upscale Western dining with a menu featuring game and regional fare alongside classic dishes. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner the restaurant has maintained its signature Corn Chowder on the menu continuously since 1985.
