The Wormhole Music Club and Bar

The Wormhole Music Venue and Neighborhood Pub has been a cornerstone of Savannah's Starland Design District for over a decade. What began as meager beginnings has grown into both a first-rate concert venue and a beloved neighborhood bar that successfully balances these dual identities.

Venue Character and Atmosphere

The Wormhole prides itself on friendly service and a neighborly vibe while avoiding pretension. The venue features billiards darts arcades pinball and classic video games including free-to-play NES Sega and Nintendo 64 systems. The space has a capacity of 300 people and maintains an 18+ age policy (21+ for the bar).

Food and Beverage

The full kitchen operates from 12 PM to 2:45 AM Monday through Saturday making it one of the few places in Savannah where you can get a hot fresh meal at 2 AM. The menu includes hot pressed paninis grilled wraps and half-pound burgers made with real ingredients prepared to order. The bar offers cocktails crafted with premium ingredients including fresh squeezed citrus (no pre-mixes) fresh herbs and muddled ingredients all affordably priced. They make their own salsa guacamole wing sauces and use fresh ground beef for burgers. An extensive non-alcoholic drink menu includes coffee and espresso.

Music and Events Programming

The events calendar includes weekly bar activities like trivia and karaoke alongside larger featured concerts. The stage hosts an incredibly diverse range of performances from metal festivals to bluegrass from electronica shows to square dancing. Notable headlining performers include Dick Dale HELMET Band of Horses Jonathan Richman Green Jello Particle and Papadosio. The venue has also hosted prominent comedians including Dave Chappelle David Spade Doug Stanhope Neil Hamburger and Kurt Metzger.

Open Mic and Jam Sessions

Monday nights feature the venue's renowned open mic and jam session from 8 PM to 2:30 AM voted Best Open Mic by Connect Savannah. All musical genres are welcomed from solo artists to full bands. The venue provides a full backline including house drums and keys with many instruments available for those who don't have their own. Musicians can play original songs or jam with others. Solo acts receive 10-15 minute sets depending on turnout while bands get 15 minutes with the option to sign up again non-consecutively.
