Theodore's Booze Blues & BBQ - Named Best Blues Club in the Country
Theodore's Booze Blues & BBQ is a legendary live music venue located at 201 Worthington Street in Springfield's Entertainment District. Since 1979 the venue has been a mainstay for blues and barbecue in Springfield. In 2004 The Blues Foundation recognized Theodore's with a KBA Award (Keeping the Blues Alive) naming it Best Blues Club in the Country.
Wednesday Open Mic Format
Every Wednesday night from 9:30pm-1am Theodore's hosts an innovative open mic format. Musicians sign up for desired time slots (typically 20 minutes). Each performer chooses which house band musicians they want backing their set - can choose a solo backup or full band support. The house band is equipped to back acoustic performers electric players and full ensembles. This flexible approach allows performers to customize their experience.
House Band Excellence
Theodore's provides a professional house band that includes drums bass keyboard and guitar players. These are experienced musicians familiar with blues standards rock covers and original material. The level of backup is professional and support the performers without overwhelming them.
BBQ & Food
Theodore's specializes in hickory-smoked barbecue prepared fresh daily. Meats include hand-rubbed ribs pulled pork sliced brisket chicken and sausage. Blues Foundation Recognition
