Conor Byrne Pub
Conor Byrne Pub is a Ballard institution with more than a century of musical history. The building on historic Ballard Avenue once housed The Owl Saloon and today it is one of Seattle's most important small rooms for folk and Americana and roots and indie music.
A Community-Owned Venue
In May 2024 the community stepped in to save Conor Byrne by turning it into a cooperative. The co-op now has more than 600 member-owners and it is fiscally sponsored by Shunpike Arts. Membership is open to anyone who wants to help keep live music alive in Ballard.
Sunday Open Mic
The Conor Byrne Open Mic runs every Sunday and many call it the best open mic in Seattle. Sign-ups are at 7:30 PM sharp and the music runs until 1:00 AM. The room is full of songwriters and folk players and bands trying new material and the audience is known for listening.
More Music and Events
The calendar includes touring and local bands most nights along with Country Dancing nights and free two-step and Lindy Hop lessons. Matinee shows and happy hour music trivia and bingo round out the week.
Atmosphere
Dark wood and a long bar and a small stage give Conor Byrne the feel of a classic Irish pub with a serious music program. Seating is first come first served.
