Inside
Inside is a healing arts studio and event space in downtown Seattle. Founder Sierra Jones created it as a sanctuary where self-care becomes a real practice instead of a catchphrase. The studio centers personal growth and communal healing and spiritual awakening with a special focus on the BIPOC community.
The Story Behind Inside
Jones built Inside around the idea that art can heal. The studio describes itself as a catalyst for change and uses movement and sound and creative expression to support wellbeing. Its programming mixes wellness classes with community events that give people a place to be seen and heard.
What They Offer
Classes include yoga and restorative practices along with sound baths and energy healing. There are writing and painting and poetry workshops plus dance classes and personal development sessions. Inside also hosts journaling workshops and paint parties and group meetups and offers corporate wellness programs and private event rentals.
The Vibe
The studio feels calm and intimate. The audience is supportive and the energy is gentle which makes it a great space for soulful singers and acoustic players and first-time performers.
Open Mic Night
On the second Saturday of every month Inside hosts Open Mic Night at 7:30 PM. Poets and singers and musicians and storytellers and dancers are all welcome. Each act gets up to five minutes and sign-up happens at the venue that day. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Deaunte Damper hosts and the room has a sound system with two microphones and a spotlight.
Why Performers Like It
This is an open mic built on encouragement. The short sets keep the night moving and the setting makes it a safe place to try something new.
