Historic Independent Coffeehouse

Ginkgo Coffeehouse has been serving the Twin Cities since 1993 - making it one of St. Paul's longest-running independent coffee shops. This locally owned establishment operates two locations: the original Snelling Avenue location in Midway and a Downtown St. Paul location.

Music Venue Programming

The Snelling Avenue location serves as a coffeehouse and music venue - hosting open mic nights on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6-8 PM with host Neal Dimick. The venue presents the Local Musician Series featuring donation-based concerts on Friday nights and ticketed shows on Saturday evenings. Programming includes folk - classical - country - Celtic - indie - and rock genres.

Atmosphere and Character

Ginkgo exudes an old-school - non-pretentious coffeehouse vibe with eclectic decor - mismatched furniture - and local artwork adorning the walls. The intimate space seats approximately 45 people - creating a cozy environment perfect for acoustic performances. The cafe serves as a vibrant gathering place for students - artists - and community members.

Menu and Amenities

The extensive menu features quality coffee including specialty lattes like the signature Tundra Turtle - fresh pastries and scones - sandwiches - soups - and breakfast items. The cafe offers vegan and vegetarian choices. Both locations feature comfortable seating - free WiFi - and a welcoming environment for working or socializing.

Community Hub

Ginkgo champions local artists and musicians while maintaining affordable prices. The coffeehouse frequently hosts community events including concerts - open mics - and special gatherings. The Snelling Avenue location is easily accessible with parking available.
