About The Cave DSM

The Cave DSM located at 1437 Walnut Street in downtown Des Moines serves as a performance venue and gathering space for the local music community. The venue hosts the Community Jazz Center's monthly jam sessions among other events.

Jazz Jam Sessions

On the first Sunday of every month The Cave DSM welcomes the Community Jazz Center jam sessions. These educational events have been running since 1988 and focus on developing young jazz musicians from middle school through high school. Led by professional working jazz musicians from Des Moines the sessions provide invaluable hands-on experience.

Situated on Walnut Street in downtown Des Moines The Cave provides an accessible venue for music events and community gatherings. The downtown location makes it easy for students families and music lovers to attend events.
