Zymos Brewing
Zymos Brewing is a community focused microbrewery in southwest Littleton. Its owners set out to build a true third place where neighbors and friends can gather over great beer and good conversation. The taproom has quickly become a hub for the neighborhood with a packed calendar that includes a monthly open mic and an Irish music session and karaoke with the owners along with trivia and game nights and much more.
The Story Behind the Brewery
Zymos is co-owned by Alex Tift and Tyler Tift and head brewer James Coulter. The team first announced the brewery in 2019 with plans for a Westminster location. After a five year journey that included a move to Littleton the doors finally opened on February 2 2024. Zymos is a queer owned business and inclusivity is part of everything it does from gluten reduced beers and a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks to an ADA accessible bar and a welcoming taproom design. The name comes from zymurgy and zymology which are the sciences of fermentation. The owners like to say that brewing great beer is equal parts art and science.
The Vibe
The taproom mixes traditional bar seating with comfortable lounge areas where groups can settle in for the evening. Outside there are two patios including a beer garden with cornhole. Dogs are welcome on the patio. The crowd is friendly and local and the owners are often behind the bar or leading events themselves. It is the kind of place where regulars know each other by name and newcomers are made to feel at home.
The Beer
Zymos brews on a 5 barrel system and pours from 26 taps. The lineup ranges from clean traditional lagers to rich malty stouts and everything in between. House favorites include the Educated Rodents Kolsch and the Hop Ritual IPA series with rotating hops and Barnabus's Favorite Imperial Milk Stout and the Home By Sunrise American Amber. The brewery sources locally with malt from Root Shoot in Loveland and yeast from Propagate Labs in Golden and Colorado grown spruce tips and honey. Guest beers and hard seltzer and slush beers and plenty of non-alcoholic options round out the menu. Crowlers are available to go.
Open Mic
Zymos hosts a monthly open mic on Saturday afternoons from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with host Steve Stearns. It is open to all ages and beginner friendly. Songs and poems and other acts are welcome in front of a small and supportive crowd. The afternoon time slot makes it a relaxed option for new performers and families. Irish Session Night
Traditional music fans should watch for Irish Session Night. Bring an instrument or your voice and play some reels with fellow musicians from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Players get their second beer on the house.
Karaoke with the Owners
On the first Saturday of every month owners Alex and Tyler host Zymos Karaoke starting at 7:00 PM. Come in and sing with the owners in one of the friendliest karaoke rooms in the south metro.
More Events
The calendar stays full all week. Noice Choice Trivia runs on Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with themed rounds on the third Thursday. Free Texas Hold'Em poker nights are beginner friendly and offer prizes. Not Your Mother's Book Club meets monthly and was featured by Thirst Colorado. Other regular events include Magic the Gathering commander games and Littleton Q+ Craft Night and Nerd Night presentations and board game playtesting with local game designers and seasonal makers markets.
Food
Zymos offers pre-packaged snacks and hosts food trucks on select days. Guests are welcome to bring their own food or order delivery and the staff is happy to recommend nearby restaurants.
Zymos Underground Mug Club
Regulars can join Zymos Underground which is the brewery's annual mug club. Members get monthly crowlers and discounted specialty pours and larger servings and birthday beer perks and early access to special releases. The Underground name also covers the brewery's experimental beers including foeder aged and barrel aged and one-off brews.

Zymos Brewing is located at 5180 S Lowell Blvd in Littleton CO 80123 with an on-site parking lot. Hours are Sunday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
