About Lion's Lair

Lion's Lair is an iconic dive bar established in 1969 on Denver's famous Colfax Avenue. This legendary venue has hosted thousands of acts over the decades including Jonathan Richman Detroit Cobras White Stripes Black Keys Decemberists and many more. Winner of Best Open-Mic Night in Denver (2025 Readers' Choice).

The Venue

A cozy authentic dive bar known for its unpretentious atmosphere affordable drinks and vibrant live music scene. The intimate small stage creates close connections between performers and audience. The venue maintains the classic dive feel that has made it a Denver institution for over 50 years.

Weekly Programming

Live music Thursday through Sunday nights. Monday nights feature Open Mic Comedy Night (sign up 10pm start 10:30pm). Second Tuesdays host live music with Coverboy. Wednesday nights are the music open mic (8pm showcase 9pm open stage). Saturday afternoons 2-6pm feature Kooky Kitsch with DJ Frank Bell. Sunday nights offer karaoke.
