Keeping the Churchill Grounds Legacy Alive

TEN ATL in East Atlanta Village represents the continuation of Atlanta's most storied jazz tradition. When Churchill Grounds - the legendary jazz bar next to the Fox Theatre that operated for nearly two decades - closed following owner Sam Yi's passing in February 2025 the Monday Night Jazz Jam found new home at TEN ATL.

Monday Night Jazz Jam

Every Monday at 10 PM the Churchill Grounds Trio takes the stage: Larry Willson on drums (also serving as host) Kenny Banks Jr. on piano and Joel Powell on bass. These are the musicians who anchored Churchill Grounds' house band and they've brought the same vibe and commitment to TEN ATL. Musicians and jazz vocalists welcome to join - sign in with host upon arrival.

Churchill Grounds occasionally hosted drop-ins from touring musicians like Wynton Marsalis and Lady Gaga who stopped by after concerts in the city. That tradition of welcome continues at TEN ATL where the goal is keeping jazz alive one Monday night at a time.

Additional Programming

TEN ATL opens at 8 PM Mondays with the jazz jam starting at 10 PM. Other nights feature diverse entertainment including blues performances funk and soul dance parties with DJ sets and cigar lounge atmosphere. Friday nights feature DJ MAJESTIK while Saturday nights bring dressed-up dance parties.

Venue Details

Located in East Atlanta Village at 495 Flat Shoals Avenue SE. Musicians and vocalists pay $5 at door with no guaranteed seating (standing room). All reserved seating starts at $35.
