Tea & Poets is a spacious tea and coffee shop and community space located in Sunset Place in South Miami. The venue has created a haven of good vibes and high energy where owners Joaquin and Francisco have built a welcoming environment for artists performers and community members. The space features an indoor art walk style market full service tea bar and live performance stage.
Open Mic and Community
Tea & Poets is known for having one of the most supportive open mic audiences in Miami. The weekly Wednesday event runs from 7pm to 11pm and is open to people of all ages and talents. The community this venue fosters with its open mic is heartening uplifting and very special. The event brings together not only wildly talented singers musicians and comedians but also holds space for more vulnerable neophyte performers who are clearly in search of a tribe to call their own as much as they are looking for five minutes of stage time.
The welcoming environment makes it a great place to potentially do a longer set once performers have put the reps in by going to the open mics frequently. Something bigger than an open mic is happening at Tea & Poets with performers finding their tribe and receiving love in return in a way that is better experienced than reduced to words. Venue Features
The venue offers an extensive selection of reasonably priced organic teas that are top notch and delicious. On Tuesdays any small specialty tea is only three dollars with an assortment of teas starting at 2.75 every other day. The menu includes creative cocktails made only with tea.
Tea & Poets features its own little indoor market selling items such as jewelry clothing handcrafted soaps plants Mexican silver and art creating a fantastic variety where guests challenge themselves to walk out empty handed. The space includes free WiFi charging stations comfortable chairs sofas and tables along with board games making it an inviting venue for hanging out working or meeting friends both old and new.
