Flava Coffee & Cafe is more than just a coffee shop – it's a community-centered cultural space in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood that creates opportunities for young women and gender expansive youth of color. The cafe serves as a haven where people from all walks of life can gather and connect.
Music and Cultural Events
The venue hosts the weekly Re-Verb Open Mic every Thursday evening from 6-8pm in partnership with TruArt Speaks. This extraordinary event fills the space with soul-stirring music - awe-inspiring poetry - and a strong sense of community. The Re-Verb stage has been graced by countless local and national artists.
Atmosphere and Amenities
The cafe features modern yet creative decor showcasing local Black artists - comfortable seating including couches - and a welcoming environment perfect for collaboration or focus work. Named coffee drinks honor Black feminist icons like Bell Hooks and Nina Simone. The cafe is conveniently located on the Green Line Dale Street light rail stop.
