The PG Meetinghouse
The PG Meetinghouse on Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove is a coffee house community living room and music venue in one. Owner Scott Soifer transformed the former Juice N Java into a gathering place he calls the town square by day and a live music room by night. A remodel completed in early 2026 added a Yamaha grand piano and a full bar.
Atmosphere and Vibe
The room has wooden floors high ceilings with embossed burgundy tiles and a deep blue mural behind the stage. Community groups meet here during the day and at night the stage lights come up for music. Soifer sums up the new evening vibe as moving from a PG rating to PG-13.
Food and Drinks
Coffee espresso chai and hot chocolate anchor the daytime menu along with pretzels quiche and antipasto skewers. The new bar pours craft beer wine and spirits from whiskey to mezcal which is notable in Pacific Grove a town with a long history as a dry community.
Monday Open Mic
The PG Meetinghouse Open Mic runs Mondays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM hosted by Cleo Kent-Davy and Sky. The event moved from Tuesdays to Mondays in late July 2026. Walk-in sign-up opens at 5:00 PM and each performer gets about two songs. Acoustic music of any style is welcome and the event is all ages.

The weekly calendar includes trivia night karaoke Loud and Local band nights jazz evenings and a Sunday music brunch featuring young jazz players. On Monday mornings the venue hosts a live local radio show broadcast from Pacific Grove.
