About Kulak's Woodshed
Kulak's Woodshed is a non-profit 49-seat professional recording studio and listening room that has been serving the Los Angeles music community since 1999. Founded by Paul Kulak and operated entirely by volunteers - this intimate venue is one of LA's most artist-friendly spaces.
Recording and Video Production
Every performance is recorded with 5 HD cameras and 24-track Pro Tools audio - providing performers with professional-quality video and audio recordings of their sets. The venue broadcasts all events live on the internet and maintains an extensive archive of performances.
Venue Atmosphere
The space features dark green walls adorned with vintage record albums - collectors' books - toys and bric-a-brac from bygone eras. A baby grand piano stands proudly in the center of the room. The venue offers a rustic-eclectic vibe with 90s living room aesthetics. Self-serve snacks - soft drinks - tea and coffee are available. The venue is pet-friendly and operates as an all-ages - alcohol-free space supported by audience donations.
