The Knick draws a crowd that comes for live music so performers can expect an audience that listens and cheers them on. A Historic Stage
The saloon opened in 1835 as the Gault House Tavern and took the Knickerbocker name in 1874. Performers play surrounded by pressed tin ceilings and belt-driven fans and a walnut and cherry bar that dates to 1891. Legend says John Purdue and Ulysses S. Grant and Mark Twain and Al Capone all passed through these doors.
Drinks and Food
Professional bartenders mix classic cocktails and the beer list tops 80 import and craft and specialty options along with a wine menu. Food comes from Digby's Pub and Patio around the corner with free delivery to the saloon.
More Music at the Knick
The open mic is one piece of a packed music calendar. Live piano and jazz fill Thursday through Saturday evenings and resident Piano Man Ryan Rollins plays whenever he is in town from Key West. Monday is karaoke night with host JWOW and the saloon sponsors the annual Uptown Jazz and Blues Festival. Darts and shuffleboard and billiards round out the night.
