Couth Buzzard Books
Couth Buzzard Books is a used bookstore and cafe in Greenwood that has served the neighborhood for more than three decades. It is part bookshop and part coffeehouse and part community center and its community space hosts music and poetry and discussion groups almost every day of the week.
Wednesday Open Mic
The all-acoustic Open Mic runs every Wednesday from 6:45 PM to 9:00 PM. It is one of the most friendly and eclectic open mics in Seattle and it is hosted by musician and award-winning author Chuck Gould. Music and poetry and dance and any creative expression are encouraged.
Songwriters in Seattle Showcase
On the first Saturday of the month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM the Songwriters in Seattle showcase presents sets by four or five local songwriters hosted by Roo & the Few.
Irish Music Jam
On the first and third Saturdays at noon traditional players gather for the Irish Music Jam. Bring an instrument and join the session or just come to listen.
More Music
Couth Buzzard books one-off performances on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM along with other participatory music groups. Musicians can apply through the booking form on the website.
Food and Drink
The cafe serves coffee and wine and sandwiches so you can browse the shelves before the music starts.
