Pub 50

Pub 50 is a locally owned neighborhood bar at 5001 Avenue Q in Lubbock that describes itself as a place that promotes local musicians seven days a week. It is a no-frills and friendly spot where working musicians and music fans rub elbows and where live music fills the calendar nearly every night.

Atmosphere and Setting

Think classic Texas pub with a small stage and a loyal crowd of regulars. The room is casual and unpretentious and the staff knows many guests by name. It is the kind of place where a player can walk in with a guitar and feel at home.

Tuesday Open Jam

The featured event for musicians is the Tuesday night Open Jam from 8:00 PM to midnight. The jam has been led by Billy Cork and 90 Proof and it gives local players a chance to sit in with a solid house band. Expect classic country and blues and rock standards along with plenty of room for pickers and singers to step up. The Lubbock Live Music Scene calendar lists the Open Jam on select Tuesdays in September 2026 so check the bar's Facebook page to confirm each week.

Live Music Calendar

Pub 50 books local musicians throughout the week. Recent listings include Gary Nix on Monday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Owen Franklin with Mike Swafford on Thursday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Weekends bring full bands and special events.

Karaoke and Games

Karaoke runs on Wednesday nights from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM and the bar hosts music bingo and other themed nights through the month.
