Marigold

Marigold is a converted historic theater and cafe complex on Cottage Street in downtown Easthampton, spanning three connected storefronts that house a full concert hall, an attached cafe and bar, and a performance room known as Amy's Place. It is one of the anchor music venues of the Easthampton arts scene, mixing touring and local bands with a monthly open mic and jam night.

Atmosphere and Setting

The main hall is a proper small theater rather than a bar — a real stage, house sound, and a seated or standing audience built for listening. The attached cafe, added in 2025, serves snacks and drinks to concertgoers before and during shows, softening the room into more of a neighborhood hangout on quieter nights.

Open Mic & Jam

On the first Thursday of every month, Marigold turns the stage over to the community for a fully backlined Open Mic & Jam hosted by Tobey Sol LaRoche. Sign-up starts at 6:30 PM, with 15-minute performance slots beginning at 7:00 PM on a first-come basis. At 10:00 PM the format shifts into a free-for-all open jam. Bands and first-time performers are given priority over solo repeat performers, and the house supplies drums and amps so electric acts can plug in and play.

Other Programming

Beyond the monthly jam, Marigold runs a packed calendar of ticketed touring and local band shows throughout the year. The venue also has a sister location, Marigold, in Brattleboro, Vermont, opened under the same ownership in 2024.
