About Lefty's Live Music

Lefty's Live Music is a 350-capacity concert hall and full-service bar in the Drake Neighborhood of Des Moines. Since opening in 2015 it has become the premier destination for live music in central Iowa welcoming all genres from rock and hip hop to bluegrass metal folk and blues.

Manic Monday Open Mic

Every Monday at 8pm Lefty's hosts an open mic night that encourages all types of performers. Whether you want to jam show off stand-up comedy or just take the stage the venue provides a full PA system and backline equipment. The supportive atmosphere makes it perfect for first-timers and veterans alike.

Music Scene Hub

Since 2015 Lefty's has been inspiring audiences and supporting musicians. The venue hosts live music up to 7 nights a week and serves as a cornerstone of Des Moines diverse and talented music culture. All ages shows run 5-9pm per city law while 21+ events continue later.
