Luthier's Co-op

Self-described as the world's first full-service guitar bar, Luthier's Co-op in Easthampton combines a working instrument shop with the Backstage Bar, a small music-centric watering hole pouring local beer and a house ginger drink. The shop buys, sells, trades, repairs, and appraises guitars, basses, banjos, amps, mandolins, and ukuleles, and offers lessons and tube amp repair on the side.

Atmosphere and Setting

The vibe is unmistakably musician-first — instruments line the walls, and the bar exists as much for players hanging around the shop as for anyone stopping in for a drink. It is a welcoming, low-pressure room built for people who already care about gear.

Open Mic Nights

Luthier's runs open mic nights twice a week: Tuesdays with sign-up from 8:00 PM and a start around 8:30 PM, and Wednesdays with sign-up from 6:30 PM and a 7:00 PM start. Both are open to all instruments and skill levels.

Other Programming

Beyond the open mics, Luthier's hosts a monthly comedy night on the first Tuesday, a spoken word night called Unbuttoned on the second Tuesday, and an Art Walk Jazz Night on the second Saturday, making it one of the busiest small stages in Easthampton.

Good to Know
