Luka's Sit Sip & Roll
Luka's Sit Sip & Roll is a flexible bar and event space in Belltown with a warm and eclectic feel. It pairs fun cocktails with games and comfy seating and plenty of live entertainment. The Infatuation named it one of Seattle's great bars with live music.
The Story Behind Luka's
Luka's fills the front of a 1924 building on Fourth Avenue that was once home to The Sit & Spin. That laundromat and cafe and music venue hosted bands like The White Stripes and Modest Mouse in the 1990s and early 2000s. Luka's shares the building with the Cottontail speakeasy and is run by the same Belltown team.
The Vibe
Crowds are calm and the drinks are playful. The Infatuation noted that some cocktails may come with a mini bottle of Malört. Live music here can fade into the background or become the main event depending on the night. It works well as a first stop before the rest of a Belltown evening.
Sunset Series Showcase
Every Thursday from 8:00 PM to 10:15 PM Luka's hosts the Sunset Series Showcase. Spoken word and live music and other art forms share the stage and the show is free. Performers have ranged from newcomers to established artists.
Why Performers Like It
The room is open and flexible and the crowd is relaxed. It is a good place to try new work in a setting that feels more like a lounge than a club.
More Events
Rotating DJs spin on Friday and Saturday nights. Luka's also hosts live music and monthly wine tastings and private parties and it can be rented for events.
