West Seattle's Community Music Haven

Kenyon Hall occupies a special place in West Seattle's cultural landscape - sitting atop High Point near the corner of Kenyon Avenue and 35th Ave SW. The venue's intimate listening space with modest stage welcomes performers and audiences of all ages - genres - and skill levels.

Jazz and Blues Education

The Final Friday Jazz/Blues Jam series represents Kenyon Hall's commitment to music education. These monthly sessions - held on the last Friday of each month - provide learning and early professional players opportunities to develop improvisational skills and bandstand communication. A house trio composed of talented Chief Sealth High School music program students supports participants. All instruments and vocalists welcome - with sign-ups available when doors open at 6 PM.

Structured Learning Environment

Each month features dedicated themes and recommended set-lists to help musicians prepare - though performers can also call their own songs. Musicians can sign up as soloists to play with the house band or bring duos and trios. This open-call format encourages musical risk-taking in a supportive environment where mistakes become learning opportunities.

Accessibility and Community Focus

All Final Friday jam sessions are free admission - ensuring accessibility for emerging artists regardless of economic background. The all-ages policy creates intergenerational learning opportunities rare in Seattle's music scene. The venue's location in West Seattle provides critical cultural programming to a neighborhood underserved by centralized music venues.
