The Iron Horse Pub
The Iron Horse Pub bills itself as Wichita Falls' only authentic Irish-American pub and the city's top live music venue since 2000. It sits at 615 8th Street in the heart of downtown Wichita Falls inside a century-old building that gives the room real character. For more than two decades it has been the place where North Texas bands and touring acts cross paths with local players.
Atmosphere and Setting
Expect a classic pub feel with a long bar and an intimate showroom built around a real stage. The venue pairs a state-of-the-art sound system with lighting and a video projector so even a weeknight set sounds and looks like a proper show. The bar pours domestic and imported beers along with handcrafted cocktails and the crowd is a friendly mix of downtown regulars and music fans.
Open Mic Night with Clint Vines
The big draw for local musicians is Open Mic Night hosted by Clint Vines on Thursday nights. Vines fronts the Texas country and roots band Clint Vines and the Hard Times and he runs the open mic as a welcoming space for songwriters and players of every level. Recent editions have been listed for January 2025 and for June and September 2026 and local media have covered the mix of longtime locals and new arrivals who show up to play. Sign-up is in person at the venue so arrive early to get on the list and check the pub's event calendar for the start time of each edition.
Live Music Calendar
Beyond the open mic the Iron Horse books live music every week with local and regional bands along with national touring acts. Past bills have included Micky and the Motorcars with Clint Vines and the Hard Times as openers and Texas country artists such as Grayson Lee. Genres range from Texas country and Red Dirt to rock and Americana with occasional comedy nights and special events.

The pub offers catering and private event rentals and books artists directly through its website. It is a popular spot for birthday parties and band release shows.
Good to Know
