Hi-Fidelity Brewing

Hi-Fidelity is a nanobrewery and taproom and artist community in Portland's East Bayside neighborhood. It pairs small batch beer with art shows and performances and it describes its taproom as a creative space full of creative people.

The Story Behind Hi-Fidelity

Hi-Fidelity was built to fill a niche. Its 3-barrel brewhouse focuses on low ABV beers with everything under 6 percent in a range of American and English styles. From the start art and performance have been part of the mission with short-format events of original work by local artists along with exhibitions and open mics.

The Vibe

The tasting room seats about 30 so it feels intimate and neighborly. Cribbage games and trivia sit alongside live music which gives the room a relaxed feel rather than a formal concert atmosphere.

What They Serve

Along with its own beers Hi-Fidelity serves rotating cocktails and wine and cider plus coffee and tea and non-alcoholic options. A small kitchen makes small plates.

Original Music Open Mic

Every Monday night from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM Hi-Fidelity hosts an open mic focused on original music by local songwriters. The sign-up list goes up at 6:30 PM. Sets run about 10 minutes with 5 minutes for setup so plan on two songs and possibly more if the night is running on time. Sound is live mixed and all types of performers are welcome though originals get priority over covers.

Why Songwriters Like It

A room of creative people listening to new songs is a songwriter's dream. The live-mixed sound makes even a short set feel like a real performance.

More Events

The brewery also hosts comedy nights and jam sessions along with live music and trivia.
