Gritty McDuff's Auburn Brew Pub

Gritty McDuff's Auburn is a brew pub on the Androscoggin River in downtown Auburn. It has a riverside deck and classic pub food and house beers and a different kind of entertainment on most nights of the week.

The Story Behind Gritty's

Ed Stebbins and Richard Pfeffer opened the first Gritty McDuff's in Portland in 1988. When it served its first beers that December it became Maine's first brewpub since Prohibition and helped launch the state's craft beer scene. Its Black Fly Stout has won awards across the country. The founders opened the Auburn pub on August 18 2005 to bring the fun to central Maine.

The Vibe

The riverside setting and the deck make it a comfortable place to spend an evening. Families come for dinner and friends come for a pint and a show.

What They Serve

Gritty's pours its own beers including classics like Best Bitter and Black Fly Stout alongside classic pub fare.

Thursday Open Mic Night

Every Thursday from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM the pub hosts an open mic night. Call the pub for sign-up details since none are published online.

More Events

Wednesday brings karaoke from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Live bands play on select Fridays and Saturdays and some Friday nights include DJ sets.
