Overview

The Fish House Miami was established in 1996 by husband and wife Jose and Angela Rivero and has grown into one of Miami's premier seafood restaurants with an exceptional live music program. Celebrating 30 years of business the venue combines fresh locally sourced seafood with blues and jazz creating a unique New Orleans meets Miami experience in the Olympia Heights neighborhood.

Music Program

The Fish House hosts an impressive music calendar throughout the week with BackRoom Live voted Best Open Mic Night. Wednesday nights feature Jazz Jam with special guest musicians from 7-10pm with a seven dollar music cover. Thursday nights host the Best Blues Jam also from 7-10pm with seven dollar music cover. The jam is hosted by house band members Rachelle Coba on Guitar/Vocals Darrell Raines on Guitar Conrad Itchener on Bass and Ray Robinson on Drums. Friday nights feature live music from 7:30-10:30pm.

The venue saw the theme of Blues and Jazz in New Orleans and developed a stage for different local bands to play shifting the restaurant's decor to reflect New Orleans and cajun style. The Fish House has gained such popularity that many artists now seek out the restaurant hoping to play. Most performers are young aspiring artists who use the stage as a way to get their voices heard. The atmosphere is dimly lit like a New Orleans joint with rich instrumental blues and jazz music.

Food and Atmosphere

The Fish House menu is loaded with the bounty of the ocean featuring fresh catch-of-the-day options including mahi-mahi salmon grouper and snapper. The restaurant has a raw bar and extensive sushi menu. Signature items include their famous fish dip made with a minimum of mayonnaise surprisingly subtle and livened with lemon earning praise from Miami New Times as unquestionably good enough to make an additional order irresistible.

The ambiance is nautical and relaxed with marine decor including trophy fish and sea-inspired elements. Miami Herald has acclaimed the venue as Worth a Drive not by the sea but Fish House fare is tasty and fresh and Fabulous Fish.
