Fighting Hand Brewing Company
Fighting Hand Brewing Company is an independent microbrewery in Pineville just across the Red River from downtown Alexandria. It is owned and run by husband and wife Chris and Tiffany and it has grown into one of Central Louisiana's most active community taprooms. Trivia and games and themed nights and live original music keep the calendar full.
The Story Behind the Brewery
The owners built Fighting Hand around the things they love. Its theme draws on science fiction and fantasy along with their own experiences and family and they describe the brewery as a reflection of who they are. The taproom officially opened in Pineville in 2021 and it has leaned on local partnerships and loyal regulars ever since. Some of the staff started as customers which says a lot about the atmosphere.
The Vibe
Think geek culture meets craft beer. The taproom is laid back and pet friendly and full of people who came for a pint and stayed for a board game. The brewery often teams up with community groups for fundraisers and themed events. It is a 21 and over space.
The Beer
Fighting Hand brews its beer on site and keeps a rotating lineup on tap. Styles change with the seasons so there is usually something new to try on each visit.
Cenla Songwriter Circle
On the first Wednesday of the month at 4:00 PM Fighting Hand hosts the Cenla Songwriter Circle. It is a true round-table format where local writers take turns playing original songs and sharing the stories behind them. Covers are not part of the night and participants must be 21 or older.
Why Songwriters Like It
A circle is different from a typical open mic. Writers sit together and listen closely and trade tips. It is one of the best places in Central Louisiana to connect with other songwriters and get honest feedback on new material.
More Events
Weekly trivia is a big draw along with album release parties and community fundraisers. The taproom is also available for private rentals.
