About Dubliner Pub

Dubliner Pub brings authentic Irish pub culture to Omaha's historic Old Market district operating in a landmark building with a rich history dating back to 1894. The building originally served as a tack supply business and later housed a mannequin manufacturing company before finding its calling as one of Omaha's premier Irish establishments.

Historic Setting

In 1978 Paul McGill purchased the John A. Horbach building which was designated an Omaha landmark in 1979 and is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places. McGill developed Horbach's in the basement space that once served as coal intake and storage eventually renaming it Dubliner Pub to emphasize its authentic Irish character. The current owners Vance and Cindy who also operate Cohen & Kelly's Lounge in West Omaha acquired the pub in 1999 and have maintained its reputation as the closest thing to a traditional Irish pub this side of the Atlantic.

Music and Entertainment

Live music is central to the Dubliner Pub experience with performances scheduled throughout the week. The pub hosts two distinct open mic nights - Monday evenings feature comedy with tight five-minute sets and a pre-show writing workshop while Wednesday nights shift focus to music giving singer-songwriters and bands opportunities to test new material or jam with regulars. Live Irish music fills the pub on Fridays and Saturdays with additional performances on Tuesdays and Thursdays featuring local and regional artists.
