Flagstaff's First and Only Meadery
Drinking Horn Meadery was born in the pines of Flagstaff Arizona in 2017 with a mission to create environmentally responsible alcoholic beverages. As Flagstaff's first meadery the venue has introduced Northern Arizona to the traditional roots of mead one of humanity's earliest libations.
Philosophy and Production
The meadery prides itself on sustainability with a focus on water conservation local ingredients and environmentally conscious production methods. Mead is created in small batches using only the best locally sourced ingredients following authentic recipes that honor the drink's ancient heritage from the Pacific Islands.
The Mead Hall Venue
Located at 108 E Route 66 the Mead Hall serves as both a tasting room and community gathering space. The venue features a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy traditionally crafted mead while connecting with others. The space is decorated to reflect the cultural significance of mead and creates a warm inviting environment for patrons.
Live Music and Events
The Mead Hall hosts Open Mic Night every second Tuesday of the month from 6:30-9:30 PM. Sign-ups begin at 6 PM with the first act starting at 6:30. Original music is strongly encouraged and the venue welcomes musicians to bring their instruments and perform. Comedy is not permitted - the focus remains on musical performances. The monthly event has become a gathering point for local musicians seeking a welcoming crowd.
Every Thursday from 7-9 PM the meadery features live Celtic music creating an authentic atmosphere that pairs perfectly with traditional mead. Weekly trivia nights on Wednesdays bring additional community engagement. The venue has also hosted poetry nights goth nights and spiritual gatherings.
Hours and Accessibility
The Mead Hall is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 10 PM and Friday through Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM. The location is easily accessible on historic Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff with nearby parking available.
