About The Dog House

The DogHouse is a restaurant and sports bar at 6791 Linglestown Road in the Linglestown area of Harrisburg, in the former Irgo's Tavern space. It grew out of a partnership between Shakedown BBQ and Underdog Sports Bar & Grill, two well-known names in the Harrisburg area.

Atmosphere and Setting

The space is a casual sports-bar setting, with TVs for game days and a full bar. The mood is friendly and informal, and the restaurant is designed to give guests a reason to come back week after week.

Food and Drink

The menu draws on the barbecue that made Shakedown BBQ popular, along with burgers, sandwiches, small plates, and entrees. The full bar serves beer, cocktails, and the usual staples.

The People Behind It

Chris and Sarah Heilig, who operate Shakedown BBQ, teamed up with George and Jen Sgagias, owners of two Underdog Sports Bar locations in the region. Shakedown BBQ operated for more than a decade as a food truck, pop-up, and catering business before finding a permanent home here.

Linglestown Setting

Linglestown is a village in Lower Paxton Township, northeast of downtown Harrisburg, with the Blue Mountain ridge as a backdrop. The DogHouse gives the area a new gathering place for game-day crowds and families, and it is a convenient stop for locals who would rather stay close to home.
