Cottontail

Cottontail is a cozy cocktail bar with an alley entrance in the heart of Belltown. It serves spirited cocktails and food and local art along with live entertainment. Its motto is simple. Good drinks and good food and great times.

The Story Behind the Building

Cottontail sits in a 1924 building with a rich music past. From the 1990s until 2003 it was home to The Sit & Spin which was a laundromat and cafe and music venue where The White Stripes and Mudhoney and Modest Mouse and Soundgarden played. The space later became The Hideaway and Spitfire Sports Bar and the tapas bar Pinxto. Owner Jessica Gifford has opened several Belltown favorites including Bathtub Gin and Lava Lounge and Rabbit Hole and Mr. Darcy's and The Bear & The Bee.

The Vibe

Low light and hand-painted signs by artist Zach Rockstad set the mood. The room is small and relaxed with local art on the walls and a rotating cocktail list. Cottontail is dog friendly and 21 and over.

Belltown Open Mic

Every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM Cottontail hosts the Belltown Open Mic. Music and other performance art are welcome. Sign-ups are first come first served and an in-house piano is available.

Why Musicians Like It

It is rare to find a piano at an open mic. The intimate setting makes it great for singers and keyboard players and acoustic acts who want a listening crowd in a fun room.

Next Door

The front of the same building is home to Luka's Sit Sip & Roll which is run by the same team and hosts its own Thursday showcase and weekend DJs.
