Venue Overview
Clubhouse is a historic event venue located in downtown Salt Lake City originally built by the Ladies' Literary Club of Utah in 1913. The building stands as one of the finest examples of Prairie School style architecture in Utah and serves as both a cultural landmark and vibrant community arts space.
Community Programming
Clubhouse is committed to uplifting local Salt Lake communities through creative programming historic preservation and educational opportunities. The venue hosts Stage Presence a weekly community open mic showcase every Tuesday from 7:30-10:00 PM. This event welcomes spoken word music poetry philosophy storytelling improv and comedy with open mic signup beginning when doors open at 7:00 PM. Entry is $15 or 2 for $20 with volunteer opportunities available for those unable to contribute financially.
Performance Guidelines
Stage Presence encourages performers to think outside the box welcoming original music creative covers beat boxing a cappella and acoustic performances. The stage is equipped with a piano guitar and 1-3 microphone inputs. The event is designed for an 18+ audience due to the sensitivity of topics discussed and maintains a strict no hate speech policy with requests for trigger warnings before sensitive content.
Additional Programming
Beyond the weekly open mic Clubhouse hosts a variety of cultural and artistic events including live figure drawing sessions jazz performances like The Jazz Room: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans darkroom rentals (the only public darkroom in Salt Lake City) and various special events throughout the year. The venue offers Programme Membership for $75/month providing unlimited attendance at all Clubhouse events plus additional benefits.
