Cité des Arts

Cité des Arts is a nonprofit performing arts theater and community arts space in downtown Lafayette, offering a black-box theater, rehearsal and gallery space, and a rentable venue for concerts, plays and private events. It has become one of downtown Lafayette's steadiest homes for grassroots, all-ages music.

Atmosphere and Setting

The space has an intimate, community-arts-center feel, with a flexible black-box layout that adapts easily to acoustic music nights, theater productions and gallery openings alike.

Monday Bluegrass Jam

Every Monday evening from 6:30 to 10:00 PM, Cité des Arts hosts a free, all-ages, all-experience-levels Bluegrass Jam, giving pickers and dabblers a welcoming place to meet, learn tunes and play together downtown.

Other Programming

Beyond the weekly jam, Cité des Arts hosts theatrical productions, touring and local concerts, art exhibitions and space rentals for community events throughout the year.

For Performers

The bluegrass jam is a casual, drop-in circle with no sign-up required — musicians of any age or skill level are invited to bring an instrument and join in.
