About Centennial Hills Active Adult Center

The Centennial Hills Active Adult Center is a modern community facility operated by the City of Las Vegas serving the northwest valley. The center provides recreational cultural and educational programming specifically designed for adults with a focus on active aging and community engagement.

Bluegrass Music Community

The center serves as a home for the Southern Nevada Bluegrass Music Society and hosts weekly bluegrass and old-time music jam sessions every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. These sessions welcome acoustic musicians of all skill levels to participate in traditional American roots music. Musicians bring fiddles banjos mandolins guitars dobros and upright basses to play classic bluegrass and old-time tunes in an informal supportive environment.

Music Tradition

The bluegrass community at Centennial Hills helps preserve and share traditional American music forms including bluegrass old-time fiddle tunes and early country music. Both experienced players and those new to the genre are encouraged to participate with more advanced musicians mentoring beginners in the musical traditions.
