South Bay Folks Acoustic Open Mic
Every Friday evening from 6-9 PM Bogey's hosts the South Bay Folks Acoustic Open Mic one of the most welcoming and entertaining open mics in the Bay Area. Sign-ups begin at 5:45 PM and the event features a wonderful mix of musicians from complete beginners to seasoned professionals. Each performer gets two songs or 10 minutes whichever comes first. The event provides a PA system with two mics and two line inputs - keyboards are welcome while electric guitars are discouraged to maintain the acoustic vibe. Backup musicians are always available making this an especially supportive environment for newer performers.
Music Policy
The open mic maintains an acoustic-only policy with an exception for electric bass when plugged directly into the board. All genres are welcomed creating a diverse musical experience. While many performers fall into the folk category the evening showcases a wide variety of musical styles. Instruments with pickups must plug into the board and performers should arrive tuned up and ready as setup time is subtracted from performance time.
