Blue Moon Tavern
The Blue Moon Tavern is one of Seattle's most storied dive bars. Hank Reverman opened it in 1934 just after Prohibition ended and it became a hangout for University of Washington writers and poets including Theodore Roethke and Richard Hugo. Activists saved the building from demolition around 1990 and the Blue Moon celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2024.
Wednesday Open Mic
Jonny and Odin host one of Seattle's oldest open mics every Wednesday and it has been running for around 30 years. Sign-up is at 7:30 PM and the first act goes on at 8:00 PM. A full house drum kit and bass rig are provided and all performers are welcome. Heavy metal and jazz and blues harmonica and poetry have all shared the same night.

- Sundays: Art and Crafts Night followed by Karaoke
- Mondays: Andy Coe Band at 9:00 PM
- Tuesdays: DJs in a Dive Bar at 7:00 PM
- Wednesdays: Open Mic
- Weekends: Local band bills and psychedelic and rock shows
Atmosphere
Yellowed photos and local art cover the walls and the booths are full of history. It is one of the last bars where you can sit by yourself and talk and the crowd is famously open to unconventional performances.
