About The Aquarium

Since opening in 2006 The Aquarium has established itself as North Dakota's premier live music venue. Located above Dempsey's Public House this independently owned venue has hosted more national regional and local artists than any other place in the state with a capacity of 260 people.

Notable Performances

Past performers include Father John Misty Bon Iver Phoebe Bridgers The Melvins Prof Built To Spill Band of Horses Trampled By Turtles Against Me! and Screaming Females demonstrating the venue's ability to attract cutting-edge talent across indie rock folk punk metal hip-hop and electronic music.

Venue Mission and Awards

The Aquarium's mission focuses on bringing original cutting-edge music to Fargo-Moorhead to bolster a more inspired diverse and creative community. Ryan Hoffart and Josie Gereszek serve as co-directors. The venue has earned High Plains Reader's Best Music Venue award multiple years in a row.

Programming

While most shows occur on Friday and Saturday nights The Aquarium hosts events any night of the week. The venue books diverse genres and occasionally hosts all-ages shows providing crucial performance opportunities for younger musicians and fans. Special events include Emo Night Karaoke album release parties and touring packages.
