208 Wine Bar occupies a historic building constructed in 1859 by John Stoddard for his thriving cotton trade on Upper Factors Walk just above River Street in downtown Savannah. For over 160 years this building has been home to various commercial enterprises and the current owners have preserved and captured the history while creating a vibrant modern wine destination.

Wine Selection and Expertise

The bar features over 50 wines available by the glass flight or bottle representing an eclectic selection from around the globe. The carefully curated list includes unique offerings like Tour de France flights and selections from India showcasing the bar's commitment to quality and variety. Owner Christina and her knowledgeable staff provide expert guidance helping patrons explore unique flavors and discover new favorites. The venue recently expanded to include cocktails in addition to wine becoming 208 Wine Bar and Cocktail Lounge to better serve diverse groups and special events.

Food and Atmosphere

While primarily a wine destination the venue offers a small thoughtfully prepared food menu that pairs well with the wine selections. Large windows provide picturesque views of ships arriving and departing on the Savannah River creating a serene atmosphere for conversation and relaxation. The intimate space accommodates up to 45 adults (all attendees must be 21+) and is available for private events and parties.

Every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM the wine bar comes alive with its popular Open Mic Night hosted by rising Savannah artist Brandi Olenyik. Known for her soulful blend of Americana pop and rock Brandi sets the tone before welcoming a rotating lineup of local musicians to share the stage. Each week offers something new from intimate solo sets to surprising collaborations making every performance feel fresh and personal. The venue also features live music performances every other Saturday adding to its reputation as a place where creativity and community converge.
